I decided to jump right in on my first post here on Blogger.
So about 2 weeks ago I received a box of Tampax Pocket Pearls from Crowdtap and here I am giving you my honest opinion as I will always do. With that being said I will be
30 in almost a couple of months I have tried a lot of pads/tampons over my
life. I have used regular Tampax before so I am excited to try these out.
Packaging: The
packaging is very nice and designed well as you would expect from a larger
company. It’s very fun, inviting and youthful design. Even though it may be a
youthful design I think it appeals to women of my age or older still. I also
believe it provides enough information for younger gals who may not know what
they are looking for.
There are 36
individual tampons after counting so good job quality control (lol)! The box is
very easy to open and I like the fact that you only need to open one flap to
access the tampons. The box does somewhat close again for storage purposes.

detailed instructions provided inside.
Appearance: Having
used the regular Tampax before and knowing these were “pocket” sized they are
still a lot smaller than I expected. I really like the colors and designs of
the tampons making it easier to share with friends and family. These tampons
are unscented and fragrance free.
On the wrapper there
is clearly a blue arrow pointing where to grab and rip open along the
perforated dots. This easily reveals the tampon and the whole wrapper still is
one piece. You could always rip along top or bottom if you wanted. The plastic
is that of a blue iridescence to look like a pearl sheen. I would say the grip
is moderate.
Use: Since the
design of the wrappers are pretty I have no issue being easily seen in my purse
or bag. The noise of the wrapper is to minimal and does offer discreetness when
I do grab one out of my bag. They fit easily into my hands without being too noticeable
or you can slip one in your pocket while traveling to the bathroom.
The first thing you
need to do is pull the inner tube out until it “clicks” into place before
using. This gives it the size of a regular tampon and that is why it is
compact. I found this to be a very simple process. I only found that 1 out of a
handful of tampons throughout my period did in fact unclick. Once it did
unclick this did become a problem especially if you remove the tampon from the
applicator and it’s nearly impossible to reset. So I did have to toss one out.
I do find that these
sit comfortably and I have no issues.
I like that the
braided string also provides extra backup in case I have to use one for my
heavy days. If I have to use on my heavy days I will frequently change them out
more. I personally like using a more absorbent tampon/pad for those days and
think the regulars are for average flow. Either way I still haven’t had any
issues with leakage so I am happy with the pocket pearls.
Always throw away
the plastic applicator and cotton tampon. I wouldn’t recommend flushing the
cotton part because it can expand and absorb moisture and possibly cause
blockage in your plumbing.
Price: I think the
price is fairly good especially if you purchase in bulk. You can find great prices on Amazon.
Overall: I am very
happy with the tampons. They work well with my body as far as application and
comfort. I do think you have to find what works best for you since everyone is
completely different. The only thing I would worry if more of the tampons were
faulty and did not click into place, but I only tossed 1 since using these.
There is a major downfall that these are not environmentally friendly with the
plastic applicators and wrappers.
