*New* Redken Extreme Bleach Recovery 3 Step System

Anyone who has ever lightened, highlighted or bleached their hair knows that it can be extremely damaging. To combat that, Redken has created a three-step Extreme Bleach Recovery process to help revive brittle and stressed hair.

The Redken Extreme Recovery Shampoo is the first of the three. It’s made with cica to help fortify your hair by nourishing the hair follicles and scalp. Not only does this prep your hair for healthy new growth with its clarifying properties, but leaves your hair soft and shiny as well.

Both the Shampoo and Leave-in Cica Cream have a faint, warm vanilla scent, probably due to having very similar ingredients. I find that it lathers nicely without leaving my hair feeling stripped of nutrients.

After shampooing, the next stage is the Redken Extreme Bleach Recovery Lamellar Treatment. It’s a rinse-out conditioning treatment that absorbs into your hair's porosity to restore moisture, leaving your hair softer and smoother.

Use this directly after shampooing by applying 1-4 doses on mid-lengths to ends, with 10ml to a dose. On the side of the bottle you will even notice dosage markers to help you dispense the correct amount! I recommend pouring little portions of the product into your palm and then working it in as suggested. The only issue I found is that the instructions on the bottle were very tiny and hard to read due to the white font on light blue background, making it a bit more difficult to figure out.

Once massaged into your hair, you feel a warming sensation right away that means it’s working to penetrate the follicles. I like to lightly lather it into my hair; it will not feel like a shampoo or a cream, so just working it in with your fingers gently will do the trick. I felt that it made my hair softer and more manageable, but not quite as much as a traditional conditioner would, which is why I think it’s a must to follow this up with the leave-in cream.

The last part, and in my opinion the most important, is the Redken Extreme Bleach Recovery Cica Cream.

This leave-in deeply nourishes your hair from the inside out by increasing the strength of your hair between touch ups. It smells just as amazing as the shampoo and leaves my hair incredibly soft to the touch and easier to detangle, too! In my opinion, if you’re going to use the Lamellar Treatment you absolutely cannot skip out on using the highly nourishing Cica Cream.

I’ve been using this product line for about two weeks now, and have definitely seen the condition of my bleach blonde hair improve quite a lot. Not only does my hair feel stronger and easier to brush through, but it’s not as dry and brittle and therefore less hair snaps. I truly believe it is a great three-step system that helps blondes keep their healthy soft and strong, and I’ll be using it for a long time to come.

PYT Unicorn Ionic Tourmaline Pro Hair Dryer

My hair tool collection needed a massive update so I took a chance with PYT (Pretty Young Thing) by purchasing their fun and colorful Unicorn Ionic Tourmaline Pro Dryer. While I was at it, I also grabbed their Lola Styling Tool Kit in the beautiful Galaxy pattern.

Thankfully, I had been searching around for a while when I found that HauteLook had them on sale! Keep reading to learn more about HauteLook and what they have to offer. I had been putting off looking for new tools because my now four year old Conair Professional (Jilbere De Paris) Porcelain dryer is still working and gets the job done. I’m happy to retire this one as a donation and get started with something fresh!

The PYT Unicorn Pro Dryer is made with tourmaline, and just like the rare magical unicorns that adorn this dryer on the outside, inside it's infused with ceramic and tourmaline gemstones. Tourmaline is a rare semi-precious gemstone that only generates negative ions when heated.

While the far-infrared heat dries the hair, the emission of negative ions closes the hair cuticles while retaining moisture, therefor making the hair less frizzy. Equipped with a 1875-watt motor with uniform heat distribution, it is also said to use less heat to dry and is gentler on the hair.

It also comes with two different sized concentrating nozzles, that help to focus on a certain area and control air flow. A great way to use these is by setting the dryer on a lower speed setting with a higher temperature to speed up drying.

I love the size and weight of the dryer compared to what I’ve been using previously. It’s a lot lighter and easier to move around my head and all the buttons are easy to access with one hand. Everything is simple to understand with 3 heat settings for any hair types and 2 speeds to personalize according to your preference. It also includes a standard cool blast button, which is fantastic since hair starts to set as it cools, and this allows you to finalize and lock in that look.

Another great feature I noticed was the additional length of the power cord. My old dryer never gave me enough room around my vanity and I always had to be careful when turning my head upside down to dry (which boosts volume), but this one surpasses it by 3 additional feet making it 9 feet in total. I’m also able to move freely about however I want with its 360° swivel cord.

Not only is the Unicorn Ionic Tourmaline Pro Dryer visually appealing on your vanity, it effectively and efficiently dries your hair. The claim is that this drying can reduce drying time by 70% and I would have to agree, which anyone can benefit from. Although I don’t use a blow dryer every day, the days I do and I need it to work quickly so that I can get a move on with my day it pulls through.

In the past, I'd drastically reduced my hair dryer use is because of my fragile blonde hair, but with this new dryer I've noticed a change in how my hair feels afterwards. Overall it feels softer, more hydrated, less damaged, and easier to style and run my fingers through, so I'll be inclined to use this dryer more frequently than my old ones.

By purchasing this through HauteLook, I saved 73% and only paid $39 for this amazing $150 hair dryer. HauteLook offers top brands in both women's and men's fashion, ranging from clothes, jewelry, toys for your children, to home goods at discounts from 50 to 75% off. Every day, starting at 8 a.m. Pacific, they curate new events that are only available for a limited time. This gives an opportunity for everyone to afford high-end items. What is your preference when it comes to hair dryers? Have you tried out a tourmaline dryer yet?
