Batiste Waterless Cleansing Foam / Cleanse + Hydrate with Cactus Water

Non-wash day? No worries! Batiste Waterless Cleansing Foam makes it easy to refresh your locks! The Cleanse + Hydrate with Cactus Water is just one of four new cleansing foams. This particular version contains Optunia Ficus-Indica Flower Extract, also known as the Prickly Pear Cactus, which is packed with antioxidants, polyunsaturated fatty acids and amino acids that all help to replenish and moisturize hair.

Batiste is known for their beloved Dry Shampoo, so I was super excited to try this, however, I couldn’t get it to work for me in the expected way. My roots are extremely oily, even with second day hair, so it takes a good dry shampoo to help to combat it. Sometimes I can get away with a good dry shampoo, but this cleansing foam sounded like a miracle treatment for my overly oily hair.

I did exactly as advised: shake well, dispense onto hand, massage into dry hair until absorbed and wait 60 seconds to dry. It instantly weighed down my roots and made them more oily, with worse texture and appearance. It took my just slightly oily roots to over-the-top wet and dirty looking. I experienced no “cleansing” action and was thoroughly disappointed in that regard.

On the other hand, I was able to repurpose it to refresh the mid to end portion of my blonde hair. This section is typically dry and frizzy the next day, so I was able to work in Waterless Cleansing Foam to help nourish and re-hydrate. I personally like to dispense the foam and work from the middle down. I also used a wetted brush to work through and get instant revival, but this step could be skipped if need be.

I will add that this cleansing foam smells amazing, which is another benefit to adding to second day hair (just not my roots)! This product is free of phthalates, sulfates, dyes and parabens. I also saw no white cast on my dark roots.

So unfortunately, I couldn’t get this to work the way it was intended and will stick to using dry shampoo. My hair type is medium thickness with natural dark roots with dyed blonde for the majority of my hair. I think my troubles could be because the ingredients add shine, which just doesn’t work with my hair type, but it just may work if your hair is not so oily.

StriVectin Full Screen SPF 30 100% Mineral Vanishing Tint

Fight back against time with StriVectin’s targeted approach to skincare for aging and changing skin. They have created their very own game-changing molecule named NIA-114™ that was thoroughly tested and has been scientifically verified to build up the skin barrier and enhance other ingredients for healthier, more youthful skin. It’s also important to note that this molecule is exclusively found in StriVectin products.

I have very fair skin and I burn easily, so to protect myself I apply SPF everyday. In fact, you should always apply sunscreen no matter the rain, sun, or snow, since any incidental sun exposure causes premature aging, pigmentation and other things we want to avoid.

I was happy to introduce StriVectin Full Screen SPF 30 100% Mineral Vanishing Tint to my routine whether it was a full makeup day, or with nothing else at all. Not is the formula a daily defense against UVA/UVB, blue light and pollution, but furthermore it provides nourishing Vitamins A, B, C and Pro-Vitamin D to keep your skin healthy. More ingredients included are Argan Oil and Licorice Root Extract to brighten and hydrate your skin.

Immediately out of the tube the formula looks a bit like cappuccino color, but just like the name implies, it vanishes by blending easily into the skin with no pesky white cast. The texture dries matte and made for a great base to continue on with my makeup routine. It’s not scent free, but has a slightly spicy, sweet and earthy scent which I think must be from the Licorice Root, Althaea and Argan Oil, all of which are undetectable after applied to the face.

As far as price point goes, I think at $39.00 it’s highly reasonable, considering my other favorite face SPF brand is Coola. When comparing it to Coola’s Mineral Face Organic Matte Tint SPF 30, the price is only about $5 per ounce more. However, I think the higher quality ingredients are worth the extra five bucks.

Just like with any sunscreen, it is recommended to reapply about every two hours and immediately if you’re excessively sweating or after swimming. Remember if you only do one thing for your skin, always apply a SPF even if you’re not going to be outside for long periods of time, and StriVectin Full Screen SPF 30 100% Mineral Vanishing Tint is a great product to fulfill that crucial part of your routine.
