Rituals... The Ritual of Karma! A mindful Spa experience!

Enrich your home and life with Rituals, a luxurious lifestyle brand with a focus on ancient eastern traditions. As stated on the product labels, “According to ancient Hindu belief, living with good intent attracts good karma. Do good, and good will come your way.” The brand started in 2000 in the Netherlands, and has since expanded to a line of over 400 home and body products with hundreds of stores worldwide.

As of September 15th, they’ve also launched on Sephora.com, increasing their footprint in the United States. Rituals also prides itself on using clean, safe ingredients, reducing waste in packaging designs, and giving back to communities in need through their Tiny Miracles, Goodie Bag, and Soul School programs (read more here).

The Karma collection helps immerse your home and your soul in positive energy and mindful intention that can transform everyday routines. Included in the Ritual of Karma set are the Cleanse Your Mind & Body scrub, Spread the Kindness body cream, and Full of Kindness shower foam. The two key ingredients shared among this entire collection are holy lotus and white tea, the former of which provides restoration, soothes inflammation, combats aging, and is an antioxidant. White tea, grown throughout southeast Asia, contributes a fresh scent that can enhance the senses.

First and foremost, the foaming shower gel is a simple yet extremely refreshing and enjoyable part of the collection. The most notable thing about this gel is that with exposure to water, it transforms instantly into a thick, nourishing foam. After a wash, it had my skin feeling clean, incredibly soft, and faintly smelling of the signature flowery white tea.

The scent is in no way overwhelming, and even provides a sort of aromatherapy quality while using it in the shower for a luxurious, mindful experience. The gel is very dense and lathers up generously, so it doesn’t take much to get a complete wash. The pressurized bottle dispenses it super quickly, so be careful not to get more than you need!

The body scrub not only smells amazing, but leaves my skin noticeably softer even after one use as well! The scrub has noticeably large sugar granules that work to gently exfoliate your skin. I love to use this prior to shaving my legs to remove any dirt and dead skin cells which in turn helps me achieve a closer shave!

It spreads easily with a gritty texture, but the skin is also soothed by the accompanying nourishing liquid from some amazing ingredients like natural oils, holy lotus and jojoba.

It’s easy to rinse off and doesn’t cling to your skin or leave any remnants behind. The scent is neither overpowering nor underwhelming, but instead just the right amount to leave your skin freshly scented after use, I would describe it as a sweet, floral scent. I love this scrub and see this being a perfect addition to my routine for the dry winter months and rough skin that are ahead.

Finally, the Spread the Kindness body cream comes as a perfect companion to the scrub and shower gel by providing additional moisture, nourishment, and faint white tea scent to your skin on a daily basis. I’ve found that it spreads very easily and absorbs quickly, without leaving any oiliness or residue behind, and my skin feels silky smooth right away after application.

However, my favorite part of all about this body cream might be the smart, innovative packaging! Inside the gorgeous jar, there is an insert holding the cream that allows for refills to reduce packaging waste. This really speaks to Rituals’ sustainability efforts, and I’d be thrilled to see them expand their refillable offerings even further. Hopefully it becomes an industry trend!

Overall, I think the Ritual of Karma collection is an excellent addition to my daily routine, and the great packaging, feeling, and scent of the products all combine to really embody a calming, luxurious, at-home spa day experience. I’m excited to try out some of their other offerings, especially their home products and fragrances. Even my boyfriend is interested in their men’s line now, too! I’m really impressed by the affordability as well, as I would’ve expected everything to be much more expensive considering both the luxe appearance and high quality.

Beyond the excellent products themselves, I also can’t say enough about how great it is to see a brand so committed to environmentally friendly practices and giving back to the communities from which they take their inspiration. I highly recommend browsing their website and Sephora’s to check out everything I’ve reviewed here and more.

BECCA Cosmetics Zero No Pigmentation Collection | Zero to Hide

I’ve been anticipating the chance to try out Becca’s Zero line ever since I heard about it several weeks ago, so I was over the moon when I found out Influenster would be sending me the No-Pigment foundation and Glass Highlighter free for my review.

The Zero foundation takes advantage of what Becca calls Clear Light Blur Technology to smooth and diffuse the appearance of the skin and any imperfections on it. Hyaluronic acid is included to help hydrate and retain moisture, and the formula is silicone-free to help minimize oiliness.

The Glass Highlighter uses minimal ingredients to provide a glassy shine on either the lips or the face. Both are 100% vegan and cruelty-free as well.

To begin, I wore the Zero foundation for a day while including my normal SPF, and it covered no blemishes, redness or really any of my problem areas. Unfortunately that’s something I look forward to in a foundation; I need help concealing imperfections since I don’t have flawless skin. Perhaps the intention here is either encouraging acceptance of your skin by giving you a transparent foundation, or maybe it’s just a gimmick to attract more buzz for a weird new product.

It does effectively smooth and blur skin as it claims, and I absolutely love the balmy feeling that’s similar to petroleum jelly. The Zero foundation is also hydrating and cooling, but almost instantaneously dries to a matte finish, which keeps any excess oils at bay. I also experimented in combination with both liquid and powder foundation to test it’s efficacy as a primer and both seemed to work rather well.

Frankly, I can only recommend this to people who have flawless skin or are comfortable with how their bare skin looks and just want to matte down and blur their trouble spots. Otherwise I think it's an excellent primer that helps blurs and sets my oily skin with nice matte finish!

As for the Glass Highlighter, it’s great for either bare lips or as a topper, but seemed overly sticky and tacky for the face. It could be excellent for photoshoots where you get plenty of glossy, reflective action going on. However it never really dries down and retains that tackiness, so I was frequently annoyed by my hair sticking to it.

You can mitigate the stickiness a bit by blotting the highlighter into the skin instead of swiping, but take care because it can move your foundation around. It’s also worth noting that I absolutely love the extra chunky doe foot applicator; it’s very fun to use!

Since I absolutely love the texture of the Zero Foundation I wish they would create a line with pigmentation. While I could see myself *possibly* purchasing the Zero Foundation again to use as a primer, I’m just not that impressed by the Glass Highlighter for a highlighter and will continue to use it on my lips as a juicy gloss!

Wearing Zero Foundation with Zero Lip + Highlight. Plus eye & brow. No concealer to show imperfections and redness.

BuzzBallz: Ready To Drink, Women-Owned Cocktail Orbs!

I don’t often branch out from my usual rum & cola, so I was excited to take on an opportunity from Smiley 360 to try something new and review BuzzBallz ready-to-drink, pre-mixed cocktails! Even more so because I’d be supporting a women-owned business in the process. They all come in at 15% ABV, with premium spirits and real fruit juice, and there are a ton of different flavors so you’re almost guaranteed to find a favorite. In addition to being super-portable, the type 1 PET plastic containers can be recycled through most curbside pickup programs. Furthermore, these also include ENSO RESTORE enzymes that help to decompose the containers more quickly in case they do find their way to a landfill.

The first flavor I tried out was Watermelon Smash, which I enjoyed outside by the fire on a cool night. I instantly tasted a warming sensation down my throat from the high alcohol content, with a taste that reminded me a bit of cough syrup, or kind of like a jolly rancher dissolved into a vat-full of alcohol! It was a little strong for me, but it’ll definitely get you buzzed in a hurry.

On a hot Sunday afternoon we tried out two more flavors, but this time poured over ice, which really improved them in my opinion. My boyfriend and I agreed that the Tequila ’Rita was our favorite, with its cirtrus-y, sour margarita flavor. The second we tried that day, Strawberry Rum Job, was a little too sugary-sweet for my taste, but not bad overall. Later on I gave the Pineapple Passion a try, and it was quite good, but made even better by mixing in some Berry Gatorade Zero.

I have three flavors left that I want to try; Peachballz, Tea-Licious, and Ruby Red Grapefruit, the first of which is waiting in my fridge right now. BuzzBallz’ reward program is also worth mentioning; the Buzz Club is a place where you can earn chances to win some fun prizes. I spun the wheel and got enough reward points on their Spin-to-Win promotion in addition to my receipt upload for a t-shirt and an adorable little floating flamingo drink holder!

Overall, I really like these tasty little cocktails and am looking forward to trying a few more, especially since they’re so versatile with all the different ways you can enjoy them. I highly recommend giving these little orbs a try, but please enjoy responsibly!

With so many flavors to choose from, why not have a ball today! Track them down with their Store Locator.
