Smashbox Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder

I have been LOVING my Smashbox Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder that I received complimentary from Influenster. It’s a fresh, long-wearing powder that provides light coverage that is also buildable for versatility.

The formula is enriched with skin loving ingredients like goji berries, gold and peptides. I’m normally a full coverage liquid foundation girl, but during these quarantine times I find myself looking for something easy and breathable while at home.

The Smashbox Halo Powder technically falls under the foundation spectrum, but I found many different uses for it. One being that I could wear it alone, and oh boy was I surprised by the results. When they say “airbrushed finish," it’s no joke. It miraculously blurs imperfections and acne while toning down redness and brightening. This alone gives you that perfect no makeup look.

It’s not going to eliminate problem areas completely, hence the light coverage, but that’s easily fixable. That leads on to my second use, the combo of Halo and concealer. By touching up my under eye and problem areas like acne or dark spots with my concealer (currently using Too Faced- Born This Way)  I am able to brush on the Halo powder after and get that full coverage look without a heavy foundation feeling.

Lastly, it's possible to use this as a setting powder alongside whatever foundation you love. It doesn’t crease, settle in fine lines, get cakey or chalky, and has even helped to keep my oiliness at bay.

What makes Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder unique is its powderizer mechanism, a built-in grinder that freshly dispenses product all with a simple twist. Which is perfect because sometimes when using loose powder you can pick up too much on your brush and end up wasting it.

The only issue I have with the container is that if you leave any shaved powder inside and it happens to turn over, once you open it again powder will get everywhere. One suggestion I could offer could be updating the compact so that what is in the middle when closed can’t go all over to the sides.

Overall, I’m happy to have tried something out of my comfort zone and find a new favorite foundation! Keep scrolling to see more photos in the Gallery!

  1. What can you say about the shade? It seems quite dark being the fair one... Does it oxidise?

    1. I love the shade, it matches my fair skin perfectly! It may look darker in my pictures, but check out where I test it out on my hand that is the best representation! I did not experience any oxidization when wearing. Thanks for stopping by!
