BECCA Cosmetics Zero No Pigmentation Collection | Zero to Hide

I’ve been anticipating the chance to try out Becca’s Zero line ever since I heard about it several weeks ago, so I was over the moon when I found out Influenster would be sending me the No-Pigment foundation and Glass Highlighter free for my review.

The Zero foundation takes advantage of what Becca calls Clear Light Blur Technology to smooth and diffuse the appearance of the skin and any imperfections on it. Hyaluronic acid is included to help hydrate and retain moisture, and the formula is silicone-free to help minimize oiliness.

The Glass Highlighter uses minimal ingredients to provide a glassy shine on either the lips or the face. Both are 100% vegan and cruelty-free as well.

To begin, I wore the Zero foundation for a day while including my normal SPF, and it covered no blemishes, redness or really any of my problem areas. Unfortunately that’s something I look forward to in a foundation; I need help concealing imperfections since I don’t have flawless skin. Perhaps the intention here is either encouraging acceptance of your skin by giving you a transparent foundation, or maybe it’s just a gimmick to attract more buzz for a weird new product.

It does effectively smooth and blur skin as it claims, and I absolutely love the balmy feeling that’s similar to petroleum jelly. The Zero foundation is also hydrating and cooling, but almost instantaneously dries to a matte finish, which keeps any excess oils at bay. I also experimented in combination with both liquid and powder foundation to test it’s efficacy as a primer and both seemed to work rather well.

Frankly, I can only recommend this to people who have flawless skin or are comfortable with how their bare skin looks and just want to matte down and blur their trouble spots. Otherwise I think it's an excellent primer that helps blurs and sets my oily skin with nice matte finish!

As for the Glass Highlighter, it’s great for either bare lips or as a topper, but seemed overly sticky and tacky for the face. It could be excellent for photoshoots where you get plenty of glossy, reflective action going on. However it never really dries down and retains that tackiness, so I was frequently annoyed by my hair sticking to it.

You can mitigate the stickiness a bit by blotting the highlighter into the skin instead of swiping, but take care because it can move your foundation around. It’s also worth noting that I absolutely love the extra chunky doe foot applicator; it’s very fun to use!

Since I absolutely love the texture of the Zero Foundation I wish they would create a line with pigmentation. While I could see myself *possibly* purchasing the Zero Foundation again to use as a primer, I’m just not that impressed by the Glass Highlighter for a highlighter and will continue to use it on my lips as a juicy gloss!

Wearing Zero Foundation with Zero Lip + Highlight. Plus eye & brow. No concealer to show imperfections and redness.

Smashbox Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder

I have been LOVING my Smashbox Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder that I received complimentary from Influenster. It’s a fresh, long-wearing powder that provides light coverage that is also buildable for versatility.

The formula is enriched with skin loving ingredients like goji berries, gold and peptides. I’m normally a full coverage liquid foundation girl, but during these quarantine times I find myself looking for something easy and breathable while at home.

The Smashbox Halo Powder technically falls under the foundation spectrum, but I found many different uses for it. One being that I could wear it alone, and oh boy was I surprised by the results. When they say “airbrushed finish," it’s no joke. It miraculously blurs imperfections and acne while toning down redness and brightening. This alone gives you that perfect no makeup look.

It’s not going to eliminate problem areas completely, hence the light coverage, but that’s easily fixable. That leads on to my second use, the combo of Halo and concealer. By touching up my under eye and problem areas like acne or dark spots with my concealer (currently using Too Faced- Born This Way)  I am able to brush on the Halo powder after and get that full coverage look without a heavy foundation feeling.

Lastly, it's possible to use this as a setting powder alongside whatever foundation you love. It doesn’t crease, settle in fine lines, get cakey or chalky, and has even helped to keep my oiliness at bay.

What makes Halo Fresh Perfecting Powder unique is its powderizer mechanism, a built-in grinder that freshly dispenses product all with a simple twist. Which is perfect because sometimes when using loose powder you can pick up too much on your brush and end up wasting it.

The only issue I have with the container is that if you leave any shaved powder inside and it happens to turn over, once you open it again powder will get everywhere. One suggestion I could offer could be updating the compact so that what is in the middle when closed can’t go all over to the sides.

Overall, I’m happy to have tried something out of my comfort zone and find a new favorite foundation! Keep scrolling to see more photos in the Gallery!

FENTY BEAUTY by RIHANNA Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara

I felt nothing but excitement when I first opened the VoxBox from Influenster to reveal Fenty Beauty by Rihanna BRAND NEW Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara!

The packaging is exceptionally opulent with its solid feeling and rose gold sheen.

However this mascara is much, much more than its packaging with its cutting-edge brush design that transforms from FAT to FLAT with a simple twist of your fingers, each side providing exclusive benefits.

The FAT side of the brush allows you to dispense the majority of the product onto the lashes and pushes your lashes upwards. The FLAT side allows for complete definition and a curl that requires no other tools to achieve.

This duo brush might seem intimidating to some, but in reality it’s just a little turn of the wand to complete your lashes. Better yet, the brush paired with the formula provides a very clear separation of lashes with no clumping and notable length.

Don't mind the fluffy messy hair!
The formula is not waterproof, but is labeled as water-resistant. This mascara is also comfortable due to the fact it is unnoticeable wear and the only time I noticed any smearing was when I unfortunately shed a few tears, because as you all know life happens! *See GALLERY below for a picture of the cry session aftermath!* Most of the mascara that did smudge was the bottom lash line, but nothing I wasn’t able to easily fix.

Overall, I’m happy to move this mascara to the top of my favorites list and can’t wait to try out more from Fenty Beauty.
