BECCA Cosmetics Zero No Pigmentation Collection | Zero to Hide

I’ve been anticipating the chance to try out Becca’s Zero line ever since I heard about it several weeks ago, so I was over the moon when I found out Influenster would be sending me the No-Pigment foundation and Glass Highlighter free for my review.

The Zero foundation takes advantage of what Becca calls Clear Light Blur Technology to smooth and diffuse the appearance of the skin and any imperfections on it. Hyaluronic acid is included to help hydrate and retain moisture, and the formula is silicone-free to help minimize oiliness.

The Glass Highlighter uses minimal ingredients to provide a glassy shine on either the lips or the face. Both are 100% vegan and cruelty-free as well.

To begin, I wore the Zero foundation for a day while including my normal SPF, and it covered no blemishes, redness or really any of my problem areas. Unfortunately that’s something I look forward to in a foundation; I need help concealing imperfections since I don’t have flawless skin. Perhaps the intention here is either encouraging acceptance of your skin by giving you a transparent foundation, or maybe it’s just a gimmick to attract more buzz for a weird new product.

It does effectively smooth and blur skin as it claims, and I absolutely love the balmy feeling that’s similar to petroleum jelly. The Zero foundation is also hydrating and cooling, but almost instantaneously dries to a matte finish, which keeps any excess oils at bay. I also experimented in combination with both liquid and powder foundation to test it’s efficacy as a primer and both seemed to work rather well.

Frankly, I can only recommend this to people who have flawless skin or are comfortable with how their bare skin looks and just want to matte down and blur their trouble spots. Otherwise I think it's an excellent primer that helps blurs and sets my oily skin with nice matte finish!

As for the Glass Highlighter, it’s great for either bare lips or as a topper, but seemed overly sticky and tacky for the face. It could be excellent for photoshoots where you get plenty of glossy, reflective action going on. However it never really dries down and retains that tackiness, so I was frequently annoyed by my hair sticking to it.

You can mitigate the stickiness a bit by blotting the highlighter into the skin instead of swiping, but take care because it can move your foundation around. It’s also worth noting that I absolutely love the extra chunky doe foot applicator; it’s very fun to use!

Since I absolutely love the texture of the Zero Foundation I wish they would create a line with pigmentation. While I could see myself *possibly* purchasing the Zero Foundation again to use as a primer, I’m just not that impressed by the Glass Highlighter for a highlighter and will continue to use it on my lips as a juicy gloss!

Wearing Zero Foundation with Zero Lip + Highlight. Plus eye & brow. No concealer to show imperfections and redness.
