Nasoya Organic Tofu Dumplings

Tonight we cooked up some flavorful Organic Tofu Dumplings from Nasoya thanks to Social Nature. It's a healthy alternative for those who are vegan, vegetarian, or if you're like me and just don't really care for meat. Nasoya is the first to offer fresh and not frozen dumplings to your designated grocery store.

This is my first time trying a dumpling let alone one made with tofu, but since I’ve had pierogis before, I knew I would have some inclination toward liking them. The image on the packaging looks appealing, so I gave it a go to as a side for dinner. I was able to easily find it in the produce section of my grocery store along side other tofu products. I easily used the Nasoya store locator before I headed out to pick it up.

The instructions were simple enough to follow, and in less than five minutes they were fully cooked. I chose to pan-fry the dumplings and carefully placed all into a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. I will caution that it is very messy, so be careful of hot oil flying back at you while placing the dumplings. Let them sizzle for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden, steam with some water for 2-3 more, and voila!

However if you're not into pan-frying you could always boil them. Place dumplings in 4 quarts of boiling water for a 1 minute then reduce to a simmer. Cook for approximately 2 more minutes and scoop dumplings out and drain before breakage.

They tasted perfectly crispy on the outside, with a soft, delicious filling inside. I loved the texture and ingredients like sautéed mushrooms, carrots, and the crunchy bokchoy. I personally dipped mine in sweet-n-sour sauce while my boyfriend dipped them in Thai pepper sauce. I also enjoyed the size of the dumplings and thought it similar to a veggie nugget. You can use them for great side, appetizer, or even the main entrée. Overall, we loved them in our household and will be planning more meals with them included.
